Spent Outputs Aged 1m–3m counts the outputs spent each day that were created between one and three months earlier and remained unspent in between. The unit is outputs, giving a view of monthly holding-period turnover rather than its BTC value.
An expanding count indicates more outputs from recent months returning to circulation; a quieter count indicates fewer such reactivations. The maximum of 707,942 on October 15, 2023 was far above the full-history median of 20,992, so isolated bursts should be distinguished from sustained changes in the cohort's activity.
The earlier creation date does not prove an investment purchase occurred then, and the current spend does not prove a sale. A single wallet can hold many outputs in this band; use BTC-weighted volume and exchange inflows to assess whether an unusual count carries substantial value toward trading venues.
Only approximately. It identifies output creation dates, which can arise from payments, change or self-transfers as well as purchases. It does not identify an investor's first acquisition date.
The recorded peak was 707,942 outputs on October 15, 2023, when BTC was around $26,858. The count alone does not establish what caused that event.
A supply series measures the coins still unspent in that age range. This series counts outputs leaving the unspent set that day, so it measures activity rather than remaining holdings.
