About this metric

What it measures

Entity-Adjusted Spent Volume Aged 1d–1w estimates daily BTC transferred between identified entities from coins last active one day to one week earlier. Transfers within the same identified entity are excluded; the unit is BTC per day, not an entity count.

How to read it

Higher values indicate more cross-entity movement of days-old coins after recognized internal transfers are removed; lower values indicate quieter activity in that window. The series reached about 50,797 BTC on November 21, 2024, and its 2025 maximum was about 35,680 BTC on November 21. These are activity comparisons, not proof of a common trading motive.

Entity grouping is inferred from address relationships, and updates can revise transfer classification. Cross-entity movement can include custody changes, payments and collateral transfers as well as trading. Do not assume an age-specific adjusted total is a simple fixed deduction from the raw series: ownership and age attribution need to be consistent before making that comparison.

FAQ

What is removed by entity adjustment in this age band?

Recognized transfers between addresses controlled by the same entity are excluded. The aim is to reduce internal wallet churn while retaining estimated transfers between different participants.

Does this chart count how many entities transferred coins?

No. It sums BTC, so one large participant can contribute much more volume than many small participants. Entity counts and transaction counts are separate measures.

Can entity-adjusted 1d–1w volume be treated as net inflow to exchanges?

No. It includes qualifying transfers across identified entities generally and has no exchange-only direction. Exchange Net Flow separately measures deposits minus withdrawals for tracked exchange wallets.
