Spent Outputs Aged 1d–1w counts transaction outputs consumed each day that had remained unspent for between one day and one week. Age runs from output creation to spending, and the unit is individual outputs, regardless of their BTC value.
An increase means more outputs are being reused after a pause of several days; a decrease means fewer are returning to circulation in this interval. The historical maximum was 456,765 on March 29, 2025, versus a full-history median of 88,954, showing that occasional bursts can be much larger than typical daily activity.
One transaction can consume many outputs, and wallet consolidation can create a surge without broad investor participation. This count is not entity-adjusted or weighted by BTC, so compare it with the corresponding age-band transfer volume before interpreting a spike as large capital movement.
It counts older outputs when they are consumed, not new outputs produced by the spending transaction. Their age is measured immediately before spending.
This band requires outputs to have survived at least a day, so it captures reuse after a multi-day pause. The younger band covers outputs consumed within their first day after an initial hour.
Not necessarily. Many small outputs can outnumber a few large ones while transferring less BTC; output count and coin volume measure different aspects of activity.
