Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

Spent Volume Aged Over 10y sums the BTC in outputs spent each day after remaining unspent for more than ten years. This output-based measure is not entity-adjusted, so transfers between a holder's own wallets can contribute to the daily BTC total.

Näin luet sitä

High readings mark very old outputs being spent again; low readings mean little decade-old supply is moving. The record is about 80,015 BTC on July 4, 2025, far above the 2024 maximum near 2,820 BTC, so isolated large movements dominate this series.

The chart includes years before coins could meet the age condition, and its yearly maxima remain zero through 2019. Those zeros distort full-history rankings; self-transfers, wallet upgrades and custody moves also count, so spending does not establish a sale or identify the owner.

Does a decade-old coin moving mean its holder sold it?

No. Spending an old output can move the funds to a new wallet under the same control. A sale requires additional evidence beyond the output's age and amount.

How does this differ from entity-adjusted spent volume over ten years?

This series follows individual outputs and can include self-transfers. The adjusted series filters identified internal entity movements, but the per-band readings do not support assuming that it is always lower.

When does this history first show decade-old coin activity?

Bitcoin could first have ten-year-old coins in 2019, but this dataset's yearly maxima are zero through that year. A positive annual maximum first appears in 2020, so the earlier chart segment is not a useful baseline for normal activity.
