Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

Entity-Adjusted Short-Term Holder CDD measures daily coin-age expenditure attributed to recent holders after identified same-entity transfers are excluded. Transferred BTC is multiplied by age and allocated using cohort weights around the 155-day boundary; the total is reported in BTC-days.

Näin luet sitä

A rise means recent holders are transferring more BTC, older holdings within their cohort, or both. The series reached about 8.56 million BTC-days on May 19, 2021, and about 12.58 million on May 9, 2022, showing that sizable age expenditure is not confined to one year or one market phase.

A low reading can reflect very young coins being transferred in large volume, not simply weak activity. Cohort membership evolves and entity estimates can change, while CDD contains no price or cost information; use STH SOPR to distinguish aggregate profit from loss on the coins moving.

Can high transfer volume coexist with low STH CDD?

Yes. Newly acquired coins carry little age, so repeated transfers can create large BTC volume while destroying relatively few coin days. CDD needs both amount and age for context.

Does high STH CDD mean recent holders are in loss?

No. It measures age expenditure rather than profitability. The same CDD can arise from transfers above or below acquisition cost.

How does STH CDD complement LTH CDD?

The short-term series focuses on recent-holder activity that may be hidden beneath large old-coin spikes in total CDD. Comparing the cohorts helps identify which age group contributed to a change.
