Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

The RHODL Ratio divides the realized value in the one-week coin-age band by that in the one-to-two-year band, then multiplies the result by the market's age in days. Each band values coins at their last-moved price; the output is a market-age-weighted ratio, not a USD total or supply percentage.

Näin luet sitä

Rising values show recently active coins gaining realized-value weight relative to the one-to-two-year group; falling values show the balance shifting toward the older band. The series peaked near 219,653 on November 29, 2013, with BTC around $1,042, while the October 17, 2022 reading was about 281, showing the scale of the historical range.

Market-age weighting changes the scale, and shifts in the older denominator can move the ratio without new capital arriving. Wallet reorganizations can reset coin age, and a few cycles provide limited evidence for fixed thresholds; the underlying history begins in 2009, but this ratio's first recorded value is in 2010.

How is RHODL different from HODL Waves?

HODL Waves show supply shares across coin ages. RHODL uses realized-value age bands, compares only the one-week and one-to-two-year bands, and adds market-age weighting.

Why can RHODL reach thousands instead of staying near 1?

The young-to-old realized-value ratio is multiplied by the market's age in days. Its scale therefore differs from a simple ratio of two supply shares; 1 is not a breakeven line.

Why is there no RHODL reading at Bitcoin's launch?

The denominator requires coins at least one year old. The first ratio value is recorded on January 3, 2010, so the underlying dataset's 2009 start should not be read as a year of usable RHODL observations.
