Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

Supply-Adjusted Coin Days Destroyed divides daily CDD by circulating BTC supply. Its unit is BTC-days per circulating BTC, equivalent to days, and it measures destroyed age relative to the size of the network rather than the average age of coins transferred.

Näin luet sitä

Higher readings mean more coin age is spent per unit of circulating supply; lower readings mean less. The series reached about 26.25 on May 28, 2024, compared with a full-history median near 0.31, showing that supply adjustment still leaves sharp one-day extremes.

Dividing by supply does not remove the effect of coins getting older, nor does it filter internal transfers. A wallet migration can therefore create an extreme without market selling, and a value above 1 does not mean more than 100% of supply moved.

Why can Supply-Adjusted CDD exceed 1?

CDD includes age as well as BTC amount. Moving 1% of supply after 200 days would contribute 2 days per unit of supply, so the ratio has no 100% ceiling.

Is Supply-Adjusted CDD an average holding period?

No. The denominator is all circulating BTC, including coins that did not move. Average Dormancy instead divides CDD by the BTC actually transferred.

Does supply adjustment make different cycles fully comparable?

It removes the direct effect of a larger supply, but not changes in the age distribution or wallet practices. Compare the trend and surrounding range, rather than imposing one fixed threshold across all years.
