Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

Realized Supply Density measures the percentage of circulating BTC whose estimated cost basis lies within ±5%, ±10% or ±15% of the current price. Each series sums the BTC in its price window and divides by circulating supply; the windows are nested, not separate portions of a whole.

Higher density means more supply sits close to breakeven and can switch between paper profit and loss after a modest price move. The full-history median for ±5% is about 8.3%; on October 17, 2026, it was about 15.4%, indicating a more concentrated nearby cost structure than that historical midpoint.

Falling density may mean price moved away from existing costs, not that coins left the network. The indicator combines costs above and below spot, and wallet movements can reprice supply, so pair it with a directional cost distribution before interpreting potential pressure.

Should the ±5%, ±10% and ±15% series add to 100%?

No. The ±5% window sits inside ±10%, which sits inside ±15%. Adding them would count the same coins more than once.

Does a high density reading identify support or resistance?

It identifies supply near the current price, including both profitable and underwater holdings. A cost-basis distribution is needed to see which side of spot contains the cluster.

How is Realized Supply Density different from Realized Price?

Realized Price gives one average cost for all coins. Density measures the share of coins close to spot, so two markets with the same average cost can have very different density readings.
