Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

Spent Volume Aged 1d–1w sums the BTC value of outputs spent each day that were created between one day and one week earlier. The unit is BTC transferred per day, not a share of supply or a count of transactions.

Näin luet sitä

An increase points to more coins returning to circulation after a pause of days, beyond the fastest same-day churn. A decline means less transfer activity from this specific age band. The series recorded about 222,553 BTC on November 20, 2018, compared with a 2024 daily maximum of 96,243 BTC, showing why recent context matters when judging a spike.

The band reflects output age, so a sequence of wallet moves can reset age without a change of owner. Lower volume can also mean coins have aged into the next band rather than disappeared from activity altogether. Compare adjacent age groups and entity-adjusted volume before treating a rise as market turnover.

What does 1d–1w refer to in spent volume?

It is the time between an output's creation and its spending: one day to one week. It is not a rolling seven-day sum; every chart point is a separate daily BTC total.

How is this different from the 1d–1w HODL Wave?

The HODL Wave measures the share of unspent supply currently in that age range. Spent volume counts only the BTC from that range that actually moved during the day.

Does the 1d–1w series exclude transfers within one owner's wallets?

This unadjusted series does not filter by identified owner. The separate Entity-Adjusted Spent Volume Aged 1d–1w series removes recognized transfers within the same entity.
