Inscription Transaction Share expresses each inscription category's daily transaction count as a percentage of all Bitcoin on-chain transactions that day. The categories are Text, BRC-20, Image, Video, Audio and Other; the denominator is network-wide activity, rather than inscription transactions alone.
A rising share means a category is taking a larger role in the day's transaction mix, even if its absolute count is unchanged. BRC-20 reached about 75.23% on January 14, 2024, whereas Image's recorded high was about 11.23% on April 21, 2023. These are separate category peaks, not a combined daily total.
The ratio also moves when non-inscription activity changes. A high transaction share does not imply an equally high share of bytes or fees, since payload sizes and fee rates differ. Read it with transaction counts and block-space share before attributing network congestion to inscriptions.
No. Each category is compared with all Bitcoin transactions for the day. The displayed categories therefore do not have to add up to 100%.
Yes. If the network's total transaction count falls faster, the category can account for a larger share despite fewer transactions.
One ratio counts transactions; the other measures space. Many compact transactions can dominate the count while accounting for a much smaller portion of block data.
