Entity-Adjusted Transfer Volume by Size sums the daily USD value of transfers between identified entities after excluding recognized internal moves. Transfers are grouped into $0–1K, $1K–10K, $10K–100K, $100K–1M, $1M–10M and $10M+ bands; both the thresholds and the plotted totals are in USD.
Higher values mean more dollar-denominated settlement in that size band, while lower values mean less. The $10M+ category reached about $17.93 billion on July 17, 2025; the $0–1K category's recorded high was about $140.45 million on April 15, 2021. The bands can therefore expand at different points in the history.
Dollar totals rise with BTC price even if the BTC amount transferred is unchanged, and price changes also move transfers between bands. Identified internal transfers are removed, but clustering errors and custody movements between separate entities can remain. Compare the share version to distinguish an expanding market from a changing size mix.
The displayed totals are USD, despite the broader term transfer volume. The dollar labels also describe the size of each transfer used to assign it to a band.
No. It measures on-chain transfers between identified entities. Trades inside exchange accounts leave no separate Bitcoin transaction, while an on-chain custody transfer can occur without a trade.
This chart shows the absolute USD value in each band. The share chart divides each band by the day's total, showing its relative importance even when overall settlement grows or shrinks.
