US Government Holdings adds the BTC balances of tracked addresses attributed to the US government. It is a wallet-based measure in BTC, not a valuation of all federal bitcoin interests or a statement of reserve policy.
Rising balances show more coins inside the attributed wallet set, while falling balances show coins leaving it. The recorded high was about 347,819 BTC on August 13, 2024, compared with about 305,579 BTC on October 17, 2026; these figures describe custody balances without explaining each transfer’s purpose.
Seized assets, custody migrations and address-label updates can all affect a government balance series. Neither an inflow nor an outflow proves a market transaction, and holdings held outside the identified addresses may be missing. Compare coin quantity separately from its USD value.
The tracked series reached about 347,819 BTC on August 13, 2024. That is the high for the attributed wallet set, not an independently verified total of every government holding.
The chart measures identified wallet balances. It does not classify the legal status, policy designation or intended use of the coins, so it should not be substituted for an official reserve statement.
They can identify movements worth examining, but cannot confirm a sale. Coins may move between custodians or addresses while the underlying ownership relationship stays the same.
