Mt. Gox Trustee Outflows separates BTC remaining in Trustee wallets from destination series labeled Kraken, Bitstamp and External addresses. Values are in BTC; the destination series retain transfer totals across days rather than measuring each day’s outflow.
A step up in a destination series marks an increase in recorded transfers to that destination; a flat line does not mean the same amount leaves every day. Kraken first records about 48,641 BTC on July 16, 2024, while Bitstamp first records about 5,110 BTC on July 23. Compare those steps with the Trustee wallets balance to follow changes in custody.
Transfers to an exchange do not establish that creditors sold the coins. The chart mixes a remaining balance with destination totals, so adding every series would not give daily outflows or total remaining reserves. Address coverage changes can also interrupt reconciliation between the series.
The destination series carry transfer totals forward across days. To estimate the additional amount recorded between two dates, take the change in a destination series; Trustee wallets is instead a remaining balance.
They distinguish the labeled destinations of recorded transfers. External addresses is the separate destination category shown on the chart, not proof that those coins reached an exchange or were sold.
The tracked wallet set and its coverage can change, and the series do not all start on the same date. They should not be treated as a complete, fixed accounting ledger of the estate.
