BlackRock Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) Estimated Holdings measures the BTC balance attributed to IBIT in tracked wallets. Expressed in BTC, it isolates changes in the fund’s estimated bitcoin quantity from changes in dollar valuation.
Watch the direction and size of changes to assess whether IBIT’s underlying coin balance is expanding or contracting. The recorded maximum was about 786,529 BTC on October 29, 2025; the 2024 maximum was about 553,465 BTC, illustrating substantial growth in the tracked fund balance between those years.
A higher balance can reflect creations, but the chart does not measure daily dollar subscriptions or trading volume. Settlement timing, fund expenses and changes in wallet coverage can affect the estimate. IBIT assets belong to the fund structure and should not be read as BlackRock’s own corporate bitcoin treasury.
This metric attributes BTC to the IBIT fund, not to BlackRock’s corporate treasury. Fund assets and the asset manager’s own holdings are different categories.
Yes. If the BTC price falls enough, a larger coin balance can still be worth less in dollars. The BTC unit lets you distinguish quantity changes from market-price effects.
The difference between two dates gives the change in estimated BTC holdings. Converting that difference at a single price is only an approximation and may differ from reported fund flows because of timing, expenses and custody movements.
