El Salvador Government Holdings records the combined BTC balance in tracked addresses attributed to El Salvador’s government. It is a coin-denominated view of identified state wallets, calculated by summing their balances.
Steady increases indicate growth in the observed reserve, while flat periods mean no net change in the tracked balance. The series starts at 1,182 BTC on March 13, 2024, and reached a high near 7,594 BTC on May 7, 2026; the rise describes accumulation within this wallet set, not the source of every addition.
The start of coverage is not the start of the country’s ownership, and a wallet balance need not capture all state-linked holdings. Transfers among addresses with different coverage can look like additions or withdrawals. The chart cannot establish a purchase schedule, average acquisition cost or fiscal profit.
It shows balances in the state-attributed addresses covered by the tracker. Assets elsewhere or under other custody arrangements may not be represented, so it is not a complete national asset register.
March 13, 2024 is the first date in this tracked address series. That is a data-coverage boundary, not a claim that the government first acquired bitcoin on that day.
It establishes a one-BTC net increase in the observed balance. The addition could be a purchase receipt, a transfer or another credit; the balance alone does not establish its source or schedule.
