About this metric

What it measures

Revived Supply 1+ Years sums the BTC spent each day from outputs that had remained unmoved for at least one year. It is a daily flow in BTC, covering all qualifying older coins rather than only the one-to-two-year age band.

How to read it

Elevated values show a broader release of year-old supply; quiet readings mean little of that stock moved that day. The series reached about 352,897 BTC on November 22, 2025, far above its full-history median near 2,764 BTC. Persistent activity is different from an isolated wallet movement, so compare the surrounding days.

A transfer is not necessarily a sale: consolidation, custody changes and self-transfers can revive coins too. This threshold includes the 2+, 3+ and 5+ year groups, so adding those series would double-count supply. Early zeros precede the existence of year-old coins and are not evidence of unusually strong holding.

FAQ

What is the difference between revived supply and supply unmoved for a year?

Revived supply is the daily BTC leaving dormancy through spending. Supply unmoved for a year is the stock still dormant; it also changes as younger coins age past one year.

Does the 1+ year series include five-year-old coins?

Yes. The cutoff is a minimum age, so every spent output aged five years or more also qualifies for the one-year series. These thresholds overlap.

Why is the chart zero in Bitcoin's first year?

No coin could have been dormant for a full year before the network had existed that long. The history begins in 2009, but the threshold only becomes meaningful once coins can reach the required age.
