Supply Last Active 2y+ is the BTC balance last moved at least two years ago divided by circulating supply, expressed as a percentage. It counts the entire older tail, rather than only coins aged between two and three years.
Growth shows that coins are surviving a second year without movement faster than older coins are being spent, allowing for supply growth. The share reached 57.451% on December 23, 2023, but was 48.705% in the October 17, 2026 snapshot, showing that a large dormant share can subsequently contract.
This cohort reflects decisions made years earlier and cannot identify current capital inflows. Spending, wallet reorganizations and changes in circulating supply all affect the ratio. A fall need not mean coins were sold, and the early zero period before coins could reach two years should not be treated as a comparable market regime.
The 2y+ share includes every coin older than two years. The 2y–3y band is only one part of that total; coins can leave that narrow band simply by reaching three years.
Yes. If total circulating supply grows faster than the qualifying balance, its share declines. A percentage measures relative weight, not just changes in the number of coins.
The share reached 57.451% on December 23, 2023. That means more than half of circulating BTC had not moved for at least two years; it does not identify how many owners held it.
