Mitä se mittaa

Supply Last Active 1d–1w is the BTC held in unspent outputs whose latest on-chain move was between one day and one week ago. It totals the outputs currently in this age band, not the volume transferred during the past week.

Näin luet sitä

An expanding band means more recently moved BTC has remained unspent long enough to pass the first day. A decline can mean those outputs were spent again or simply aged past one week. The recorded peak was about 1.81 million BTC on August 5, 2017; the 2022 high was about 1.13 million on June 19, so elevated weekly supply has appeared in different market conditions.

This band follows activity with a lag and cannot identify the reason for a transfer. Exchanges consolidating outputs or owners moving their own coins can lift it without a change in ownership. Compare the < 24h and 1w–1m bands to see whether recent activity is being renewed or aging onward, rather than interpreting the level as fresh demand.

Does Supply Last Active 1d–1w count all transfers over the last week?

No. It is a snapshot of outputs still unspent with ages in that range. Outputs already spent again are no longer in the band, and repeated transfers are not added together as transaction volume.

Why can this band rise after a burst of daily activity has ended?

Outputs first appear in the under-24-hour band. Those that remain unspent enter the 1d–1w band as they age, so yesterday's activity can become a higher weekly-band balance without a new transfer today.

Where does this supply go after one week?

If still unspent, it ages into the 1w–1m band. If spent, the old output disappears and replacement outputs start again at age zero, regardless of whether the owner changed.
