Om detta mått

Vad det mäter

Supply-Adjusted Coin Years Destroyed combines a rolling 365-day total of Coin Days Destroyed with normalization by circulating BTC supply. The resulting BTC-days per BTC has a day-equivalent scale; the name does not mean the values have been converted into BTC-years.

Så läser du det

Higher values indicate more accumulated age spent relative to supply over the trailing year. The series reached about 406.7 on February 22, 2018, versus 195.9 at the April 2024 halving, illustrating differences in annual spending intensity after removing the direct effect of supply size. Rising values mean new observations outweigh those rolling out.

The window retains a large transfer for a year, so a decline may simply mark an old spike leaving it. Supply adjustment does not remove internal wallet transfers or the growing age of dormant coins, and the earliest observations cover less than a full year.

Vanliga frågor

Is Supply-Adjusted CYD a percentage of supply moved?

No. Coin age remains in the numerator after BTC amounts cancel. A reading of 200 is a supply-relative measure of age expenditure, not 200% of coins or 200 years.

How does this differ from daily Supply-Adjusted CDD?

The daily measure describes one day of age expenditure relative to supply. This version uses a 365-day rolling window, smoothing isolated events while retaining their influence much longer.

Does supply-adjusted mean entity-adjusted?

No. Normalizing for supply addresses network size, while entity adjustment filters recognized transfers within the same holder. This series applies the supply adjustment without that ownership filter.
