Cosa misura

Entity-Adjusted Median Spent Output Lifespan takes the median age in days of spent outputs retained after recognized transfers within the same entity are filtered. The remaining outputs are weighted equally by count, providing an ownership-filtered view of the typical spent-output age.

Come leggerlo

A rising median means older outputs occupy more of the middle of the eligible transfer population, while a decline means newer outputs do. The 2022 range was about 0.765 to 2.094 days, much narrower than the isolated extremes in the unadjusted metric. The full-history median is about 1.01 days.

Clustering is approximate, and filtering can change the sample composition enough to move the median in either direction. It does not become a BTC-weighted measure or prove a sale. Although the configured history begins in January 2009, the first non-null observation is January 12 and some dates have no observation.

FAQ

Must Entity-Adjusted MSOL always be lower than MSOL?

No. Removing many young internal outputs can raise the median; removing old internal outputs can lower it. The direction depends on which ages were filtered.

How does it differ from Entity-Adjusted Dormancy?

Both filter recognized internal movement, but MSOL takes a median across outputs. Dormancy weights ages by transferred BTC, making it more sensitive to large-amount transfers.

Do missing early observations mean an age of zero days?

No. A missing value does not establish an instantaneous spend or zero age. Use the available observations rather than treating gaps as actual zero-lifespan transfers.
