Cosa misura

Cumulative Value Coin Days Destroyed (CVDD) adds up daily CDD multiplied by the contemporaneous BTC price, then divides by market age in days and a calibration factor of 6 million. The result is displayed in USD per BTC as a long-term model reference, not as the daily amount of destroyed coin age.

Come leggerlo

CVDD rises as cumulative price-weighted age spending grows relative to the elapsed-time denominator; a narrowing gap from BTC price means spot is approaching the model. Its level was about $14,834 on October 17, 2022, and about $20,524 at the April 2024 halving, showing how the reference shifts as spending history accumulates.

The 6 million factor is a model calibration, not a Bitcoin protocol constant, and internal transfers can add USD-valued CDD without a sale. Lifetime aggregation makes the line slow to reflect new conditions; it does not establish a guaranteed price floor or a target for subsequent price moves.

FAQ

Why is CVDD shown as a dollar price rather than BTC-days?

It first values destroyed age at the BTC price when that age is spent, then applies time normalization and a calibration factor. That construction produces a dollar-denominated reference rather than a raw CDD series.

Is CVDD the same as Transferred Price?

Both build on cumulative USD-valued CDD and market age. CVDD uses a fixed 6 million calibration factor, while Transferred Price uses circulating supply in its denominator, so their levels differ.

Does cumulative mean CVDD can never decline?

The numerator accumulates nonnegative values, but the elapsed-time denominator also grows. The formula does not mathematically require the final ratio to rise every day.
