Om detta mått

Vad det mäter

30-Day Holder Retention Supply groups address holdings within a 30-day holding-retention framework and totals each group in BTC. It separates New and Resurrected holdings from Retained (balance up), Retained (balance flat) and Retained (balance down), showing how supply is distributed across holding and balance-change categories.

Så läser du det

A large Retained (balance flat) group means much of the supply is associated with stable address balances; larger balance-up or balance-down groups show how much BTC sits with retained addresses in those states. The flat group reached about 16.98 million BTC on September 17, 2023, making persistence in holdings a prominent feature of that snapshot.

The balance of a group is not the amount accumulated or distributed: a balance-up address contributes its holdings, not just the increase. Unchanged balances can conceal offsetting transfers, while one investor can move funds to a new address. This classification does not establish continuous ownership by the same person or a specific minimum coin age.

Vanliga frågor

Does Retained (balance up) measure BTC accumulated over 30 days?

No. It measures the holdings assigned to retained addresses whose balance classification is up, rather than the sum of their balance increases. Treating the full series as net accumulation would overstate the change.

Why is the balance-flat group much larger than in activity retention?

Holding a balance does not require recent on-chain activity. Holder retention can therefore place inactive holdings in a stable-balance category, while activity retention separates Dormant and Churned supply.

Is 30-day holder retention the same as Long-Term Holder Supply?

No. This page groups address balances using a 30-day retention framework. Long-Term Holder Supply uses a coin-age convention of about 155 days, so the two classify supply on different grounds.
