Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

Exchange Depositing Addresses counts distinct Bitcoin source addresses that send BTC into tracked exchange wallets each day. The unit is depositing addresses per day, not exchange-issued deposit destinations, customer accounts or BTC volume.

Näin luet sitä

A higher count means deposits involve more source addresses, whereas a lower count can coexist with large inflows from a few wallets. The series recorded 290,670 on January 4, 2018, compared with a 2025 maximum of 123,541. Address participation in deposits need not expand in step with BTC price or the amount deposited.

Coins arriving at exchanges may fund collateral, market making or transfers between services rather than sales. Multi-input transactions can combine several source addresses controlled by one holder, and exchange labeling can change coverage. Early zeros in 2009–2010 precede the non-zero observations in 2011.

UKK

Is this the number of deposit addresses issued by exchanges?

No. It counts source addresses sending coins toward tracked exchange wallets during the day, not the inventory of destination addresses assigned to customers.

Can deposits rise in BTC while depositing addresses fall?

Yes. A small number of large sources can move more BTC than many small ones. Pair the address count with exchange inflow volume to distinguish participation from size.

Does a deposit-address spike confirm selling pressure?

It shows broader deposit activity, not executed sales. The coins may be used as collateral or transferred onward, and several sending addresses may belong to the same participant.
