Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

Addresses with Balance ≥ 0.1 BTC counts unique Bitcoin addresses with a balance of at least one tenth of a bitcoin. Each qualifying address contributes one to the total, regardless of how much it holds above the threshold.

Näin luet sitä

A rising count means more balances meet the 0.1 BTC cutoff, giving a view of funded addresses beyond very small holdings. The count reached 4.59 million on October 12, 2024; it had been about 3.01 million at the May 2020 halving. Unlike a dollar threshold, price appreciation alone does not add qualifying addresses.

Transfers within one wallet can split or consolidate balances across the cutoff without changing ownership. This count includes large exchange and custody addresses too, so it is neither a pure retail measure nor the number of holders whose total wealth exceeds 0.1 BTC.

Does an address with 10 BTC count more than one with 0.1 BTC?

No. Both count once because both meet the minimum balance. To measure how many coins a balance group controls, use address supply metrics instead.

Can this metric rise when BTC price falls?

Yes. The threshold is denominated in BTC, so price has no direct effect on eligibility. The count increased from a 2022 minimum of about 3.30 million to a maximum of about 4.20 million that year.

Does it include addresses holding at least 1 BTC?

Yes. There is no upper balance limit. All addresses holding 1 BTC or more are also included in the ≥ 0.1 BTC count.
