حول هذا المقياس

ما الذي يقيسه

Realized Loss adds up the losses on Bitcoin outputs spent below the price at which they were created. For each loss-making output, the price shortfall is multiplied by its BTC amount; the daily USD total is reported as a non-negative magnitude, without subtracting realized profits.

كيفية قراءته

A larger value means more dollar loss was recognized through on-chain spending, because more coins moved, their losses were deeper, or both. The series reached about $1.44 billion on March 12, 2020, and $4.76 billion on June 13, 2022. Falling losses can reflect easing stress, but also fewer underwater coins moving.

Spending is not proof of a sale: wallet reorganizations can recognize an apparent loss without an ownership change. This unadjusted measure includes those movements, and dollar totals grow with market size. Read it alongside entity-adjusted losses, transfer activity and price rather than treating a spike as a confirmed market low.

الأسئلة الشائعة

Why is Realized Loss shown as a positive number?

It reports the size of losses, not signed net profit. A larger positive value therefore means more loss was recognized; realized profits are tracked separately.

How does Realized Loss differ from unrealized loss?

Realized Loss only counts coins that moved that day below their previous on-chain cost. Unrealized loss concerns underwater holdings that remain unspent, so it can stay large while daily realized losses are quiet.

What is the largest daily Realized Loss in this series?

The supplied history through October 17, 2026 records about $6.13 billion on March 30, 2023. That is an on-chain accounting total and does not by itself establish why the coins moved.
