حول هذا المقياس

ما الذي يقيسه

Entity-Adjusted Realized Loss sums the USD shortfalls when BTC moves between identified entities below its attributed acquisition cost. Addresses belonging to the same holder are grouped to exclude identified internal movements, and the daily loss magnitude is shown as a non-negative amount.

كيفية قراءته

Rising losses indicate more cost being written down as underwater coins move between holders. In this series, the 2021 peak was about $2.28 billion on May 19 and the 2022 peak about $3.22 billion on June 15. A smaller reading means less loss realization, not necessarily that the remaining supply has recovered its cost.

Entity identification is probabilistic and does not reveal whether a transfer was a market sale, gift or custody change. Historical cost estimates can be revised, and dollar totals are not normalized for market size. A high-loss day can occur before further price weakness.

الأسئلة الشائعة

What does entity adjustment remove from Realized Loss?

It aims to remove movements between addresses attributed to one owner. Those transfers can otherwise reprice coins without a change in holder, so the adjusted series focuses on losses associated with identified inter-entity movement.

Is Entity-Adjusted Realized Loss a net loss figure?

No. It adds loss-making transfers without offsetting profitable ones. Subtracting it from realized profit under the same methodology would give a net measure.

Why can loss realization fall while holders remain underwater?

Only coins that move contribute to the daily total. Holders may leave underwater coins untouched, or losses may be concentrated in a smaller set of transfers even while paper losses remain widespread.
