Om detta mått

Vad det mäter

CoinJoin Output Volume sums the BTC amounts of outputs identified as belonging to CoinJoin transactions each day. CoinJoin combines inputs from multiple participants into a joint transaction to make links between individual senders and receivers harder to trace.

Så läser du det

Higher readings indicate more BTC passing through identified CoinJoin outputs; lower readings show reduced observed activity of that type. The series reached about 11,963 BTC on December 21, 2022, its record daily value, while the 2024 high was about 9,676 BTC on April 1. These peaks describe privacy-related transfer activity rather than market demand.

Output volume is not a count of users or distinct coins: repeated rounds can count the same BTC again. Detection depends on recognizable transaction patterns and may miss or misclassify activity. A change in wallet usage or transaction design can alter measured volume without a comparable change in privacy demand.

Vanliga frågor

Is CoinJoin volume the same as coins entering a custodial mixer?

No. CoinJoin refers to a jointly constructed transaction that combines multiple participants' inputs and outputs. This series measures identified CoinJoin output volume, not every form of mixing service.

Can the same BTC appear more than once in CoinJoin volume?

Yes. Coins may pass through multiple rounds, so cumulative output volume can exceed the amount of distinct BTC involved. It should not be interpreted as unique supply.

Does CoinJoin output volume count the number of privacy users?

No. A participant can create multiple outputs and participate repeatedly, while output sizes differ. BTC volume cannot be converted directly into a user count.
