Om detta mått

Vad det mäter

Average Exchange Outflow Volume divides the daily BTC amount leaving tracked exchange addresses by the number of qualifying outflow transfers. The result is a mean withdrawal transfer size in BTC, rather than the total BTC withdrawn that day.

Så läser du det

A higher mean suggests larger withdrawal transfers or a smaller number of small withdrawals; a lower mean shows a smaller average amount. The series fell from about 53.625 BTC at the 2012 halving to about 0.366 BTC at the 2024 halving. That long-run change should be read alongside BTC price, transfer counts and changes in exchange usage.

A few large transfers can dominate the mean, while batching and withdrawal processing alter the counted transfer mix. Transfer counts can differ from customer withdrawal requests when payments are batched. An average withdrawal neither identifies a typical customer balance nor reveals how much net BTC left exchanges.

Vanliga frågor

Is average exchange outflow volume the same as total exchange outflows?

No. The average is BTC per qualifying outflow transfer; the total is BTC withdrawn across the day. A rise in withdrawal count can lift the total even when the average falls.

Why can the average withdrawal shrink in BTC while dollar amounts stay large?

When BTC price is higher, a given dollar amount corresponds to fewer BTC. Changes in the mix of transfers also matter, so compare the BTC average with the contemporaneous price.

Was the largest average outflow recorded recently?

No. The supplied series peaks near 439.2 BTC on November 21, 2011. Early exchange coverage and transfer composition differ substantially from those of later years, limiting direct comparisons.
