Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

Transfer Count totals the individual BTC transfers recorded on-chain each day, in transfers. A Bitcoin transaction can contain multiple recipient outputs, so a transfer count is distinct from a count of transactions or unique senders.

Näin luet sitä

Rising counts show more frequent on-chain movement; falling counts show fewer transfers being recorded. The historical high was about 1.995 million on September 2, 2015, whereas the 2023 yearly high was about 1.690 million, illustrating that the busiest transfer day need not coincide with a price high.

Batch payments, repeated wallet activity and many small outputs can lift the count without a matching rise in economic value. Transfers are not necessarily changes of owner or purchases, and exchange-ledger trades and off-chain payments are outside this chain-based measure.

Why can transfer count exceed transaction count?

One transaction can pay several recipients through multiple outputs. Counting the resulting transfers can therefore produce a larger number than counting the transaction once.

Does one transfer mean one Bitcoin user?

No. A participant can send or receive repeatedly, and a service may process transfers for many customers. The metric measures activity rather than the number of people using Bitcoin.

How does Transfer Count relate to Transfers per Second?

The per-second series expresses daily transfer activity as a rate by dividing the count by the seconds in a day. It is the same activity on a different scale, not an independent measure of capacity.
