Tietoa tästä mittarista

Mitä se mittaa

Average Exchange Inflow Volume divides the BTC entering tracked exchange addresses during a day by the number of incoming transfers. The result is BTC per deposit, measuring the average size of an exchange inflow rather than its daily total.

Näin luet sitä

A rising mean indicates that larger deposits carry more weight or that small deposits have become less frequent. A falling mean points to smaller average transfers, even if total inflows rise. The series' full-history median is about 0.951 BTC per deposit, but the daily mean reached 160.1 BTC on December 6, 2011, illustrating its sensitivity to the deposit mix.

One large transfer can lift the mean sharply when deposit count is low. Batching, intermediary wallets and address coverage can alter both numerator and denominator; read it with total inflows and deposit count, and do not treat a large average as proof that whales are responsible.

How is average exchange inflow size calculated?

Divide that day's tracked exchange inflow volume in BTC by the count of incoming transfers in the same scope. The unit is BTC per deposit, not BTC per exchange.

Can average inflow size rise while total inflows fall?

Yes. If deposit count falls faster than the total BTC deposited, the remaining transfers have a larger average size.

Is a high average exchange inflow a whale deposit signal?

It can flag a shift toward large transfers, but does not identify the sender's holdings. Whale deposit metrics classify the originating entities and answer a different question.
