Om detta mått

Vad det mäter

Sending Addresses is the daily number of distinct Bitcoin addresses whose coins are spent as inputs to confirmed transactions. The unit is addresses per day; repeated spending from the same address does not add more counts that day.

Så läser du det

A climb means a broader set of addresses is spending coins; a decline means spending is concentrated among fewer addresses. The series reached 913,304 on May 2, 2021, whereas the 2024 halving day recorded 269,653. Address activity can therefore differ substantially between market episodes even when price is high.

Spending includes payments, self-transfers and consolidation, so it does not establish selling. One transaction can spend outputs from many source addresses, and a large exchange can serve many customers from a small address set; use transaction count and fees to put changes in context.

Vanliga frågor

Does a sending address represent a seller?

No. Spending a transaction input may fund a payment, a new wallet or a consolidation controlled by the same owner. It does not reveal whether an exchange trade took place.

Can one transaction count many sending addresses?

Yes. A transaction may combine unspent outputs held at several addresses. Each distinct source address counts once that day, so sending-address count and transaction count need not move together.

Do repeated transfers from one address keep increasing the count?

Not within the same day: the address is counted once. If it spends again on another day, it can be included in that later daily count.
