Om detta mått

Vad det mäter

Receiving Entities counts distinct clusters of Bitcoin addresses identified as belonging to the same holder that receive BTC during a day. Each receiving entity is counted once per day, regardless of the number of receipts; the unit is entities.

Så läser du det

A higher count means receipts are spread across more identified holders, while a lower count means fewer entities are receiving coins. The historical maximum was 352,929 on January 7, 2021; the 2024 peak was lower at 275,161, showing that activity peaks need not rise with every market cycle.

Entities are inferred from address relationships, not verified people: one exchange can represent many customers, and clustering can be revised. Receiving BTC does not establish a purchase or identify a new user, so compare the trend with Sending Entities and transfer volume.

Vanliga frågor

How do Receiving Entities differ from receiving addresses?

Receiving addresses counts individual addresses. Receiving Entities groups addresses attributed to the same holder, reducing repeated counting when one holder receives through several addresses.

Does receiving BTC make an entity a new Bitcoin user?

No. Existing holders can receive repeatedly on different days. First-seen entities tracks newly identified participants; this metric includes both new and returning recipients.

Can an entity be counted as both a sender and a receiver?

Yes. An entity can send and receive during the same day and appear in both series, so adding the two counts does not give a unique total of active entities.
