Om detta mått

Vad det mäter

Entities in the 10k–100k BTC band each have combined holdings of 10,000–100,000 BTC across their attributed addresses. This chart adds those entity balances and reports their total in BTC, separating them from both smaller holders and entities above 100,000 BTC.

Så läser du det

An increase means more supply is assigned to this very large balance tier; a decrease means less. The historical high was about 2.897 million BTC on June 14, 2016, compared with about 1.593 million BTC on October 17, 2026. The tier’s shrinking balance does not establish that its former members sold all those coins.

At this size, a single entity entering or leaving can materially move the total. Pooled custody, wallet attribution changes and threshold crossings complicate ownership interpretation, so examine the above-100k band alongside this one and avoid assuming every cluster is an individual whale.

Vanliga frågor

How is this different from a list of the largest Bitcoin addresses?

This metric groups addresses attributed to the same controller before applying the balance range. A large entity can use many smaller addresses and may not appear as one large address in a rich list.

Can custody consolidation change the 10k–100k BTC cohort?

Yes. Moving coins to a larger pooled entity can reassign supply to a different balance band, even if the underlying customers keep their exposure. Updated address attribution can also change the grouping.

What does the June 2016 peak tell us?

This particular cohort held about 2.897 million BTC on June 14, 2016. It marks a high in the band’s absolute holdings, not necessarily a peak in its share of supply or in Bitcoin’s price.
