Om detta mått

Vad det mäter

Active Entities counts distinct entities participating as senders or receivers in Bitcoin on-chain activity each day. Addresses estimated to share control are grouped together, so multiple active addresses belonging to the same entity count as one; the unit is entities per day.

Så läser du det

A sustained increase points to a wider set of identified entities using the chain, while a decline points to a narrower active base. The series recorded 487,604 active entities on January 7, 2021 and 175,692 on October 17, 2026. Those observations show how activity can differ across periods without measuring the amount of value settled.

Entity clustering is heuristic, not an identity register. A custodial service can represent many users as one entity, while one participant can remain split across unlinked clusters. Fees, batching and off-chain activity also change how many entities appear on-chain, so the count is neither total users nor a direct measure of capital inflow.

Vanliga frågor

How are active entities different from active addresses?

Active addresses count individual sending or receiving addresses. Active entities first combine addresses estimated to have the same controller, reducing repeated counting of a single holder across several addresses.

Does each active entity count only once per day?

Yes. It is a count of distinct active entities, not transactions. Repeated activity by the same identified entity does not turn it into several entities for that day.

Can active entities fall while Bitcoin transaction value rises?

Yes. Fewer entities can move larger amounts, while batching can combine payments into fewer on-chain operations. Compare entity activity with transfer value and fees to understand the difference.
