Om detta mått

Vad det mäter

Entity Net Growth measures additions to the Bitcoin holding-entity population minus entities leaving that population over the measurement period. Addresses estimated to share control are grouped first; the result is a signed count of entities, not a BTC flow.

Så läser du det

Positive readings indicate net expansion of the measured holder population; negative readings indicate net contraction. The recorded high was +100,945 on June 6, 2023 and the low was -59,584 on August 19, 2023, showing that sharp swings can occur within a short interval. Growth should be assessed over multiple observations rather than one spike.

An entity leaving the holding population does not prove that a person stopped using Bitcoin: coins can move into another wallet or a custodian. Clustering revisions can also change the measured population. Check the observation date before comparing series; the supplied history here ends on October 10, 2026.

Vanliga frågor

How does Entity Net Growth differ from New Entities?

New Entities is a gross count of first-seen entities. Net growth also accounts for entities leaving the measured holding population, so it can be far smaller or even negative while new entities continue to appear.

Does negative entity growth mean Bitcoin is losing that many users?

No. It means the measured holding-entity population contracted on a net basis. Transfers to custody, changes in wallet structure and clustering updates can change entity counts without an equal change in people using Bitcoin.

Can Entity Net Growth be compared directly with exchange net flow?

Their units differ: one counts entities and the other measures BTC. A small number of large holders can move substantial BTC, while many small entities can change the count with little value transferred.
