Total Exchange Transaction Fees adds the on-chain fees associated with tracked exchange activity each day, measured in sats. Deposits, Withdrawals, In-house and Inter-exchange break out the activity types, and Total gives their combined daily fee amount.
A higher Total means more sats were spent on exchange-related on-chain fees that day; a lower figure means less. The record was about 60,120 million sats on December 22, 2017. In-house alone reached 21,710 million sats on June 7, 2024, when Total was 23,460 million sats, showing that internal wallet activity can dominate a day’s costs.
The amount reflects both activity volume and fee conditions, not only congestion. Batch withdrawals, large input consolidations and address labeling affect the series; the early 2009–2010 zeros limit historical comparisons. It excludes customer trading commissions and should not be read as exchange revenue.
No. Each point is one day’s fee total in sats. Summing multiple daily values would give fees over that period.
They are Bitcoin network fees paid to miners for including transactions. They are different from trading commissions or service fees retained by an exchange.
Divide this Total by the same day’s full-network transaction fees to obtain the exchange-related fee fraction. Multiplying that fraction by 100 expresses it as a percentage.
