This series adds the balances of entities holding 0.001–0.01 BTC in total, with the result measured in BTC. An entity groups addresses inferred to belong to the same holder, and eligibility depends on that combined balance rather than on each address separately.
Rising supply means more BTC sits in this small-balance band; a decline means less. Holdings rose from about 25,621 BTC in October 2022 to a record 43,367 BTC on October 17, 2026, a longer-term expansion that does not by itself identify when the coins were acquired.
Crossing a band boundary moves an entity’s entire balance into another cohort, so growth mixes balance changes with changes in membership. Small residual balances and imperfect clustering also matter; this is neither a count of small investors nor proof of purchases.
The chart sums holdings across all qualifying entities. The 0.001–0.01 BTC range applies to each entity, not to the combined series.
The entity version combines related addresses before assigning a balance band. Several tiny addresses can belong to an entity whose combined holdings exceed this range.
No. Existing entities can reduce their holdings into this band, and leftover balances may remain there. Use first-seen entities or other participation measures to investigate network growth.
