Om denne måleverdien

Hva den måler

Accumulation Addresses counts the distinct addresses classified as belonging to the accumulation cohort on each date. Each qualifying address contributes one to the total regardless of the BTC it holds.

Slik leser du den

A rising count indicates a broader address base in the accumulation classification; a falling count indicates fewer qualifying addresses. The series reached 836,398 on July 13, 2026, compared with 491,263 at the May 2020 halving. It had eased to 812,250 by October 17, 2026, so cohort expansion can include pullbacks rather than being cumulative.

One owner can create many addresses, and membership depends on the cohort's classification rules rather than a declared intention to hold forever. An address can leave the cohort without its owner leaving Bitcoin. Use Accumulation Address Balance alongside the count: growth in small addresses alone does not establish that the cohort controls more BTC.

FAQ

Is Accumulation Addresses a cumulative count?

No. It counts addresses currently qualifying for the cohort at each date. The decline from the July 2026 high to the October 2026 reading shows that members can leave as well as join.

Does each accumulation address represent a different investor?

No. A single holder can control multiple addresses, while a service address may represent many customers. This is an address count, not a count of people.

What does dividing accumulation balance by address count show?

It gives the average BTC balance per qualifying address. The average can be dominated by large balances and says nothing about how much the typical person owns.
