O této metrice

Co měří

Spent Supply Cost Basis Quantiles ranks the BTC spent each day by its previous acquisition price and reports P1 through P100 in USD per BTC. P50 is the median prior cost of spent supply, while P25 and P75 bracket the middle half of its BTC volume.

Jak to číst

A rising median means the coins moving that day carry higher prior costs; a widening gap between low and high quantiles shows a more varied mix of acquisition prices. On October 17, 2026, P25 was about $81,354 and P75 about $81,676, a narrow middle range despite a much lower P1 of about $11,070.

The sample changes daily and excludes coins that remain unspent, so shifts do not necessarily reflect repricing across the whole market. Wallet churn and large transfers can dominate the mix; comparing a daily cost quantile with a separate daily BTC close only approximates realized profitability.

Časté dotazy

Is P50 the average price of coins spent that day?

No. P50 is the volume-weighted median prior cost: roughly half of the spent BTC has a lower cost and half a higher cost. The average uses every cost and can be pulled by either tail.

Why are cost quantiles shown in dollars rather than percentages?

The percentile identifies a position within the ranked spent supply; the plotted value is the USD price at that position. P75 therefore denotes a cost threshold, not a 75% profit.

How do spent cost quantiles differ from supply cost quantiles?

Spent quantiles describe only coins moving that day, using their prior costs. Supply quantiles describe the cost structure of coins still held, so they answer a different question about outstanding holdings.
