O této metrice

Co měří

Proximity Realized Price is a weighted average of Bitcoin acquisition costs that assigns greater weight to costs close to the current market price. Weighted cost values are summed and divided by their total weight, giving a local cost-basis reference in USD per BTC.

Jak to číst

Spot above this line is above the locally weighted cost; spot below it is below that cost. A rising line shows the weighted reference moving to higher price levels. The series ranged from roughly $16,497 to $47,865 in 2022 and $39,688 to $103,296 in 2024, demonstrating how much it can move compared with a slow all-supply cost measure.

The average can shift when spot changes the weights, without new on-chain purchases. It is neither a fixed cohort's acquisition price nor an order-book liquidity level. Proximity to the line does not guarantee support, resistance or a return toward it.

Časté dotazy

How does Proximity Realized Price differ from ordinary Realized Price?

Ordinary Realized Price is the supply-weighted average cost across all circulating coins. The proximity version emphasizes acquisition costs near spot, reducing the influence of costs far from the current market.

Can an old holding affect the proximity-weighted average?

Yes. Proximity is about cost distance, not age alone. An older holding whose acquisition cost is near current price can matter, while a recent holding at a distant cost can carry less weight.

How is this price line used in Proximity MVRV?

With the same price series and weighting methodology, BTC price divided by Proximity Realized Price gives Proximity MVRV. This turns the USD cost line into a unitless relative-price measure.
