COST Long / Short Ratio FAQ

1.What Is the COST Long / Short Ratio?
The COST Long / Short Ratio is an indicator used to observe trader behavior and market sentiment in the derivatives market, rather than measuring capital size or price strength itself. First, it is important to clarify a fundamental fact: In any crypto derivatives market, long and short positions are always equal in both quantity and notional value at a 1:1 ratio. A derivatives trade cannot exist without a counterparty. Therefore, the Long / Short Ratio does not indicate that there is “more long capital” or “less short capital,” but instead reflects how traders are distributed in their directional bias.
