O tejto metrike

Čo meria

Entity-Adjusted Average Spent Output Lifespan (ASOL) averages the age in days of eligible outputs spent each day after filtering transfers within the same entity. Each output has equal weight regardless of its BTC amount, so the result describes output age rather than the age of the average bitcoin transferred.

Ako to čítať

A rise means older outputs make up more of the spending sample; a decline means younger outputs dominate. The series reached about 184 days on November 12, 2024, compared with a full-history median near 19 days, illustrating how sharply the age mix can change.

Output splitting and consolidation affect the count-based average, while entity clustering can miss internal transfers or revise past values. A high ASOL says nothing about how much BTC moved or whether it was sold; compare it with spent volume and CDD.

Časté otázky

How does Entity-Adjusted ASOL differ from Dormancy?

ASOL gives each eligible spent output equal weight. Dormancy weights age by the BTC amount moved, so a large old output can dominate Dormancy while having only one vote in ASOL.

What does entity adjustment remove from ASOL?

It filters transfers between addresses attributed to the same owner or service. The classification is inferred from on-chain patterns and cannot identify every internal movement.

Does an ASOL of 100 days mean all holders held for 100 days?

No. It is an average for outputs spent that day, not for unspent holdings or individual people. Many combinations of young and old outputs can produce that reading.
