Whale Exchange Withdrawal Count counts daily withdrawals from identified exchanges attributed to the tracked large-holder cohort, in withdrawals. It measures withdrawal frequency for that cohort, not BTC volume or the number of distinct whales.

Increasing readings mean the tracked large holders are withdrawing more often; declining readings mean fewer qualifying withdrawals. The recorded maximum was 20,860 on January 9, 2018, compared with a 2024 yearly high of 8,468, showing that this group's activity can differ substantially across periods.
A withdrawal can serve custody, collateral or a move to another venue and does not establish fresh accumulation. Holder classification and exchange labels shape coverage; splitting withdrawals changes the count without necessarily changing volume. Avoid interpreting the label as a universal minimum amount for each transfer.
