O tym wskaźniku

Co mierzy

Supply Last Active 10y+ counts BTC in unspent outputs last moved at least a decade ago. Unlike a bounded age band, coins can remain here indefinitely unless spent; the balance is shown in BTC.

Jak to czytać

A rising balance means more coins cross the ten-year threshold than leave through spending. The series grew from about 1.09 million BTC at the end of 2019 to about 3.34 million at the end of 2024. A drop is more directly associated with old outputs being spent than in bounded bands, because there is no older band to age into.

A decade of inactivity does not prove a coin is lost, and spending an old output does not prove a sale. This band only became possible in 2019, so all-history rankings include a long structural zero period and are less informative than comparisons since then.

FAQ

When did Bitcoin first have ten-year-old supply?

The supplied series becomes positive in January 2019, about ten years after Bitcoin launched. Values before that reflect the network’s age, not a lack of long-term holding.

Can 10y+ supply ever decrease?

Yes. Spending a qualifying output resets its on-chain age and removes it from this cohort. The balance falls when those exits exceed the coins newly reaching ten years.

Is 10y+ supply the same as estimated lost supply?

No. Some decade-old coins remain accessible, and some younger coins may already be lost. A lost-supply estimate requires assumptions beyond simply counting this age band.
