BID Open Interest FAQ

1. What does BID Open Interest refer to in the derivatives market?
BID Open Interest (OI) refers to the total size of BID futures positions that remain open and unsettled in the derivatives market. These positions primarily come from BID perpetual futuress and delivery (futures) futuress. As long as a futures has not been closed, whether it is a long or short position, it is counted as Open Interest. When traders close positions, hedge exposure, or positions are force-liquidated, Open Interest decreases. In simple terms, Open Interest reflects: how much capital is currently participating in BID price movements through derivative futuress.
