Om denne måleverdien

Hva den måler

Entity-Adjusted Short-Term Holder Transfer Volume in Profit sums BTC moved from the recent holding cohort to other entities each day at prices above estimated acquisition cost. It excludes identified same-owner transfers and uses the recent side of the roughly 155-day holding boundary.

Slik leser du den

An expanding series means more recently held coins are circulating above cost; a low reading means less profitable turnover in that cohort. Its 2022 high was about 164,455 BTC on July 28, while the 2020 high was roughly 280,268 BTC on July 27. Such activity can occur within very different market conditions, so compare it with loss volume and price.

Profitable transfers do not show the size of gains or prove that recent holders have exited. A rally can reclassify coins from loss to profit without any increase in total movement. Off-chain exchange trades are absent, and entity clustering does not identify every beneficial owner.

FAQ

Does STH mean a newly arrived Bitcoin investor?

No. It describes the holding-age cohort, not the age of an investor account. An experienced holder can own recent coins, and the same person can hold both recent and older positions.

How is this different from profitable LTH transfer volume?

Both count BTC transferred above estimated cost after entity adjustment. This series focuses on recent holdings around the short side of the 155-day boundary; the LTH version follows older holdings.

Can profitable STH volume rise without more total transfers?

Yes. If price moves above the cost of coins being transferred, more of an unchanged total can be classified as profitable. The loss component may fall at the same time.
