Τι μετρά

Entity Supply Distribution by Balance groups addresses attributed to the same holder into entities, then sorts entities into ten BTC-balance bands. Each band shows the share of supply held by its entities, expressed as a percentage rather than an entity count.

Πώς διαβάζεται

An expanding band means that balance group holds a larger share of supply; a shrinking band means its share has fallen. For example, the 1–10 BTC band rose from about 9.45% on October 17, 2022 to 10.07% on October 17, 2026, while 1k–10k BTC fell from about 16.14% to 13.27%. The chart describes shifts in holdings across sizes, not acquisition-price bands.

An entity crossing a balance boundary moves its whole balance into another band, so a band can grow without existing members adding coins. Clustering is an estimate, and custodial entities can represent many beneficial owners. Very early supply was small and concentrated; early extremes are a poor benchmark for modern ownership structure.

Συχνές ερωτήσεις

What balance bands are shown in the entity supply distribution?

The labels are < 0.001 BTC, 0.001–0.01 BTC, 0.01–0.1 BTC, 0.1–1 BTC, 1–10 BTC, 10–100 BTC, 100–1k BTC, 1k–10k BTC, 10k–100k BTC and > 100k BTC. These are holder-balance groups, not cost-basis or coin-age groups.

Does a 10% band mean 10% of entities belong to it?

No. It means entities in that band hold about 10% of the measured supply. A small number of large entities can hold a large supply share.

How does grouping by entity differ from grouping by address?

Entity grouping combines addresses estimated to share control before calculating balance. A holder splitting coins among its own addresses therefore need not be split into multiple smaller groups, although clustering remains imperfect.
