Om denne måling

Hvad den måler

UTXOs Created counts transaction outputs created in blocks each day, including outputs that may subsequently be spent. It measures gross daily creation in outputs, rather than the net increase in the outstanding UTXO set.

Sådan læses den

High readings mean transactions are generating many outputs, as in batch payouts, change creation or wallet splitting; low readings mean less output creation. The series reached about 2.52 million outputs on April 23, 2024, compared with about 1.91 million on the halving date three days earlier.

An output is not a new user, a new address or necessarily a separate economic payment. Compare creation with UTXOs Spent to judge net expansion, and with transaction count to see whether a burst reflects more transactions or more outputs inside each one.

FAQ

Are UTXOs Created the same as new Bitcoin addresses?

No. New outputs can pay addresses that have already been used, and multiple outputs can refer to the same address. The two metrics count different objects.

Why can one transaction create many UTXOs?

A transaction can have several recipients and a change output. Services batching withdrawals can create many outputs in one transaction, increasing output creation without an equal increase in transaction count.

Does the creation count include outputs spent later that day?

It is a gross creation measure, not a count restricted to outputs still unspent at day-end. Subsequent spending belongs in the spending series rather than undoing the original creation event.
