Om denne måling

Hvad den måler

New Entities counts entities appearing for the first time in Bitcoin’s on-chain history each day. It groups addresses estimated to share control before identifying first appearances, so the unit is new entities per day rather than new addresses or BTC.

Sådan læses den

Higher sustained counts indicate more first-seen entities appearing on-chain; lower counts indicate a slower pace of recorded arrivals. The series reached 211,830 on January 7, 2021, compared with 60,535 on October 10, 2026. Comparing it with Active Entities helps distinguish new appearances from activity by already known entities.

First-seen does not necessarily mean a new person: an established holder’s unlinked wallet can initially look new, while a custodian can absorb many new users without creating new entities. Clusters may be revised as further transactions reveal links. The supplied history ends on October 10, 2026, so compare dates before drawing recent divergences.

FAQ

Is a new Bitcoin entity the same as a new address?

No. One entity can control several addresses, including addresses created for change or deposits. Entity clustering attempts to group related addresses before counting first appearances.

Is New Entities a count of new investors?

It is an estimate of first-seen on-chain entities, not verified investor identities. Existing participants can appear through unlinked wallets, and new customers using a known custodian may not appear separately.

Why can New Entities be much larger than Entity Net Growth?

New Entities counts arrivals without subtracting departures from the holding population. Net growth also accounts for those departures, so the two answer different questions about population change.
