Om denne måling

Hvad den måler

The under-0.001 BTC entity series sums balances below 0.001 BTC after related addresses have been grouped by inferred controller. Its unit is BTC, so the chart describes the total coin stock in the smallest balance tier rather than how many tiny balances exist.

Sådan læses den

A rise means more BTC is left in or allocated to very small entity balances; a fall means their combined stock has shrunk. The total grew from roughly 3,091 BTC in October 2022 to a record 5,464 BTC on October 17, 2026, illustrating how many individually small positions can build a measurable total.

Some balances may be residual or costly to spend relative to their value, but the 0.001 BTC cutoff is not a protocol dust threshold. Address grouping can change classification, and the total alone cannot establish adoption, the number of people involved or how much of the supply is economically spendable.

FAQ

Is every entity below 0.001 BTC holding protocol dust?

No. Dust depends on output type, spending size and fee conditions, rather than a universal 0.001 BTC balance rule. This chart uses a balance-band cutoff, not a spendability test.

Do tiny addresses always belong in this entity band?

No. Several tiny addresses can share a controller whose combined balance is much larger. Entity grouping assigns them according to that total.

Can this metric show how many people own a small amount of Bitcoin?

It cannot. The series is a BTC sum rather than an entity count, and a clustered entity is not necessarily one person.
